A Strengthened Partnership Between UCLA and Mattel
Mattel commits $50 million to UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital.
We have always taken pride in the relationships UCLA has forged with our community, and in how, together, we improve lives and communities throughout Los Angeles, California and around the world. Today, I am proud to share that one of our most important partnerships has been made even stronger, through the continued generosity of Mattel.
Through a $50 million gift to benefit our children’s hospital, Mattel is furthering its support of UCLA’s health enterprise by investing in programs that will benefit the most vulnerable among us – our children. In recognition of the gift, we will rename the hospital UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital.
Mattel’s generosity will enable us to add more hospital beds for children and to enhance our child-centric facilities. The gift also will support our sharing of best practices and our research on children’s health and critical care with hospitals in China, Indonesia, India and South Africa. And it will help us continue on our path to becoming the best children’s hospital in the world.
UCLA’s partnership with Mattel began in 1998. Today’s gift brings Mattel’s total contributions to UCLA to more than $80 million. We are enormously grateful to Mattel and the company’s leaders for their support, their commitment to improving lives and their dedication to UCLA.
I invite you to learn more about this gift to the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital on UCLA Newsroom.
