Welcoming the Extended UCLA Community for Bruin Family Weekend
Chancellor Block sent the following message to the UCLA campus community.
Dear Bruin Community:
Tomorrow, several thousand parents, caretakers and other family members of our students will arrive on campus for Bruin Family Weekend. For many of them, it will be their first opportunity to spend a significant amount of time at UCLA and to experience firsthand the energy and excitement that radiates from our campus.
I always look forward to this weekend and am deeply appreciative of all those who have spent months planning the two-day event — which includes activities like faculty presentations, lunches with our deans, a free Saturday morning Met Opera simulcast of “Fire Shut Up in My Bones” and our Saturday afternoon Bruin football game against Oregon at the Rose Bowl.
While we are grateful to be able to welcome so many members of our extended community to our campus, this year we must also be extra vigilant about health and safety. We have taken measures to protect the well-being of our visitors and the UCLA community, including requiring guests to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test and to adhere to our masking protocols. I hope members of the campus community will help reinforce safety guidelines and model healthy behavior throughout the weekend.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to all of our weekend guests and helping ensure they have a safe and enjoyable time at UCLA.
Sincerely,
