Bruin Family Weekend Kicks Off this Friday
Chancellor Block sent the following message to the UCLA Bruin Community.
Dear Bruin Community:
Beginning this Friday, several thousand parents, caretakers and other family members of our students will join us on campus for Bruin Family Weekend. For many of our guests, it will be their first time experiencing the incredible energy and enthusiasm that makes UCLA so special.
Bruin Family Weekend is one of my favorite campus traditions and I am grateful to all who have poured time, effort and genuine care into ensuring that this two-day event is a success. Over the course of the weekend, families will sample their students’ academic experiences, with faculty presentations on topics including “Scientific Computing for Animations, Robots, and Metaverse,” “The Poetry of Pop Songs” and “The Brain in the Social World.” There will be workshops on career resources for Bruins, a sustainability tour as well as a presentation from the UCLA Film and Television Archive. And, of course, no family weekend would be complete without experiencing Homecoming and Bruin football at the Rose Bowl. This Saturday, UCLA takes on Stanford at 7:30 p.m.
Please join me in welcoming all of our guests as they enjoy a taste of the UCLA we know and love.
Sincerely,
