Mrs. Block, UCLA volunteers beautify Horace Mann UCLA Community School in South L.A.
Carol Block joined UCLA students, faculty, staff and 100 middle school students and parents at Horace Mann UCLA Community School to give the facilities a spring cleaning.
Last February, UCLA and the Los Angeles Unified School District formalized their partnership to expand Mann UCLA from a middle school to a middle and high school. The school will be tailored to the needs of the neighborhood and informed by the success of the original UCLA Community School at the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools complex in Koreatown.
Mrs. Block was joined by Marcelo Suárez-Orozco, left, Wasserman Dean of the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, and Keith Parker, assistant vice chancellor of UCLA Government and Community Relations.
