Bruin Family Weekend on Nov. 7 and 8

Chancellor Julio Frenk shared this message with the Bruin community.

Dear Bruin Community:

This Friday marks the start of Bruin Family Weekend. During this festive two-day event, we will welcome several thousand parents, guardians and loved ones of our students to the UCLA campus. This is their chance to experience the Bruin spirit firsthand, and it is our chance to show them how special our community is.

Over the course of the weekend, families will get a taste of campus life, meet our faculty, attend lectures, enjoy live performances and, of course, celebrate our shared Bruin pride. They can have lunch with our deans, sit in on classes and even share a meal in one of our residence halls — noted for having the Best College Food in America. Faculty-led presentations will explore topics ranging from our cutting-edge research to the power of the arts to change lives. And on Saturday, Nov. 8, our football team will take on Nebraska at the Rose Bowl.

This weekend creates opportunities for us to come together and connect. These moments of connection — with students, faculty, staff and each other — are at the heart of what makes UCLA so extraordinary. I want to thank everyone who worked behind the scenes to bring this experience to life, and our faculty and staff for joining students in welcoming families to campus. Let’s make this weekend memorable and meaningful for everyone.

We are One UCLA.
