Announcing Salary Increases for Policy-Covered Employees

Campus UpdateFaculty and Staff

Chancellor Block and EVCP Hunt shared the following message to the Bruin Community.

Dear Colleagues:

We are pleased to announce that salary increases in FY 2024–25 are planned for all eligible, non-represented, policy-covered staff employees and academic appointees. Our staff and faculty are the ones who help carry out UCLA’s important public mission of teaching, research and service, and we appreciate this opportunity to acknowledge your efforts and deep commitment to our university.

The University of California intends to provide a general 4.2% salary increase for eligible, non-represented, policy-covered staff employees and academic appointees. It is important to note that this increase is contingent on the outcome of the UC’s allocation in the State of California’s 2024–25 budget, and thus could be subject to change. If budget expectations are altered, we will provide an update to employees.

For eligible staff on bi-weekly payroll, the general increase is planned to be effective June 23, 2024; and for those paid monthly, the effective date would be July 1, 2024. Guidelines and eligibility criteria for policy-covered staff will be issued to departments early next week. You may also reach out to your local HR teams for more information.

For policy-covered academic appointees, the academic salary scales will be increased by a general range adjustment of 4.2%. The adjustment to the academic salary scales for policy-covered faculty will be effective October 1, 2024; and for other policy-covered academic appointees, increases will be effective July 1, 2024. Details about off-scale and above-scale salary components for policy-covered faculty are still being determined and will be shared in the weeks ahead.

Please note that salary increases for exclusively union-represented employees are governed by their respective collective bargaining unit agreements, which are separate from this salary plan.

As we near the final weeks of another academic year, we share our gratitude to all of the UCLA employees who help move our university forward. Thank you for your dedication to the Bruin community.

Sincerely,
