Announcing Salary Increases for Policy-Covered Employees

Campus UpdateFaculty and Staff

Chancellor Block and Interim EVCP Levine sent the following message to the UCLA Bruin Community.

Dear Colleagues:

In recognition of everything that UCLA staff and faculty have done to keep our institution moving forward during a challenging academic year, we are very pleased to announce salary increases for all eligible, policy-covered employees. Our staff and faculty are the ones who truly bring to life UCLA’s mission of education, research and service, and we are grateful for this opportunity to acknowledge your contributions.

This coming fiscal year, all eligible, policy-covered UCLA staff will receive a 4.5% increase to their base salaries. For staff on bi-weekly payroll, increases will be effective June 26, 2022 and reflected in July 20, 2022 paychecks. For those paid monthly, increases will be effective July 1, 2022 and reflected in Aug. 1, 2022 paychecks.

Additionally, all eligible, policy-covered UCLA faculty will receive a 4% increase in the on-scale component of their salaries. This adjustment to the academic salary scales will be effective Oct. 1. Details about off-scale and above scale salary components are still being determined and will be shared in the weeks ahead. In addition to the adjustment to the academic salary scales, a Special Salary Equity Program for policy-covered faculty will also be implemented this year.

Guidelines and eligibility criteria for policy-covered staff have been issued to departments and are available on the Campus Human Resources website. Eligibility criteria for faculty will be shared in the near future.

Please note that this salary plan does not apply to exclusively union-represented employees, whose salary increases are made in accordance with their respective collective bargaining agreements.

As we approach the summer, we hope that this news will help lift spirits and deepen our community’s resolve to continue serving California and the world. Thank you for your excellent work and your dedication to our vital public institution.
