Appointment of Yolanda Gorman as Chief of Staff
Chancellor Block sent the following message to Deans, Directors, Department Chairs and Administrative Officers
I am pleased to announce that after three years serving as my senior advisor, Yolanda Gorman will now serve in an expanded role as my chief of staff, in addition to remaining my strategic advisor on issues that impact our campus and the broader community alike.
In this expanded role, at my direction Yolanda will represent me in a variety of settings with internal and external constituencies, often speaking on my behalf. She will also oversee Audit and Advisory Services, Campus Audit and Compliance, the Chancellor’s Communications Service, the Chancellor’s Residence and the Chancellor’s administrative staff. She will also continue to work closely with vice chancellors and other campus leaders.
Yolanda has already been an invaluable resource and counselor to me on a variety of issues, not the least of which has been her lead role in developing our Strategic Plan for UCLA’s second century. Yolanda previously served two terms as the Alumni Regent on the UC Board of Regents and as chair of the board of the UCLA Alumni Association. A triple Bruin and devoted alumna, her dedication to UCLA and our campus community is unwavering, and I cannot think of a better partner as we begin UCLA’s next century.
Please join me in thanking Yolanda for her continued commitment to my office and to UCLA.
Sincerely,
