You are invited: UCLA Memorial Day Ceremony, May 25 at 11 a.m. in Wilson Plaza

Event

Chancellor Block shared the following message with the UCLA campus community.

Dear Bruin Community:

Memorial Day in late May is seen by many as a day for relaxation, marking a transition to warmer days and the beginnings of summer.

However, at its heart, Memorial Day is a day for remembrance. It offers us an important opportunity to recognize those who died while serving our nation in the United States armed forces.

On Thursday, May 25, at 11 a.m. in Wilson Plaza, members of the Bruin community will gather for a Memorial Day ceremony to remember these brave individuals, mourn their losses, and take inspiration from their stories. I would be honored if you would join us for the ceremony, which will include a performance of the national anthem, presentation of the colors by our color guard, and remarks by Bruin veterans.

Please RVSP by Wednesday, May 24 to attend this special gathering. I hope you will join me in paying respect and offering deep gratitude to those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Sincerely,

  • Gene D. BlockChancellor
